Studies at the 1st Faculty of Medicine 1970-1976, employment and career steps: Ústí nad Labem Clinic of Internal Medicine 1976-1979, 1st Internal Medicine ClinicVinohradská Hospital 1979 – 1981, Internal Medicine Department of the 1st Medical Faculty Polyclinic 1981 – 1987, 1st Internal Medicine Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine 1987 – 1994, IKEM from 1.1. 1995. Member of the House of Representatives of the Czech Parliament from 2021, vice-chairman of the Health Committee.

Scientific - publishing activity:

According to Web of science 295 publications, H index 22, 3067 citations. Here I would like to point out that after coming to IKEM there was nothing to publish from for years because there was no material i.e. patient files. Main author of 8 monographs, for two periods chairman of the committee of the Czech Gastroenterological Society, 28 years member of the committee, member of the panel of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, member of the panel of the Medical Research Agency of the Ministry of Health, member of the Government Council for Science and Research 2014-2022, currently member of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Health.

President of countless domestic congresses.

International activities:

Organization: 1998 - 2002 member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), dozens of invited lectures at the most prestigious events in Berlin, Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Copenhagen, Tel - Aviv, Cairo, Shanghai, Bangkok, Vienna, Cairo, Rochester, Moscow, St. Petersburg.

President: United European Gastroenterology Week 2004, 8,000 participants, ESGE live video course 1993, 2010, Falk symposia 1998 and 2003, World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) Join meeting 2021, International Celiac Disease Symposium 2015
